Information on the processing of personal data pursuant to art. 13 EU Regulation 2016/679
The EU Regulation 2016/679 “General Regulation on the protection of personal data” (hereinafter “GDPR”) establishes the right of every person to the protection of personal data concerning him.
According to the indicated legislation, this treatment will be based on compliance with the principles of lawfulness, correctness, transparency, relevance, not excess and in order to ensure adequate security of personal data.
As an interested party, pursuant to art. 13 of the GDPR, we provide you with the following information:

Purpose of the processing and legal basis
Category of personal data
The data collected and further processed can be:
- personal characteristics, such as gender, age, department, course of study.
- experience sampling data.
- sensor data, such as acceleration, gyroscope, gravity, rotation vector, magnetic field, orientation, temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, proximity, GPS location, Wi-Fi network connections, running applications, screen status, flight mode, battery status, doze modality, headset, audio mode, music playback (no track info), notifications received, touch event, cellular network info.
Depending on the projects iLog is involved in, all or some of the data mentioned above may be used. In some cases, i-Log collects some sensor data, like user location, in the background. The details of the collected data will be provided in the privacy statement of each project.
Nature of data provision
The data provision is indispensable for the conducting project and does not derive from a regulatory and / or contractual obligation. Failure to provide data will make it impossible to participate in the projects.
Processing procedures
Your data will be processed using the main software for data analysis such as Python, R, Stata and SPSS and will aim to consolidate the research hypotheses. The collected personal data are stored on the servers of the Data Controller of each project in which iLog is involved, or external contractors. The personal data will be processed exclusively by the Data Controller and / or authorized parties in the framework of the implementation of the project. Additional or different information from the above will be provided in the privacy statement of each project in which iLog is involved.
Data recipients and possible transfer abroad
None of your personal or sensor data will be published on the web or anywhere else. No personal data will be transmitted to subjects unrelated to the recipients and to the legal framework mentioned in this document.
The data provided, made anonymous, will be used for institutional purposes of teaching, research, and the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge (Third Mission). Furthermore, the anonymous data may be transferred for the sole purpose of teaching, research and transfer of scientific and technological knowledge, to the categories of subjects mentioned below, even with headquarters outside the EU, who have signed, for instance via license regulating the Terms of Use, codes of conduct, and agreements aimed at ensuring an adequate level of protection of personal data, or in any case after verifying that the recipient guarantees adequate protection measures.
Pursuant to art. 28 of the GDPR, the data may be recipients of subjects or categories of subjects, such as, by way of example but not limited to, researchers and research groups belonging to universities, bodies or national and international research institutes, both public and private; students, PhD students and university professors solely for teaching, research and technology transfer purposes within university courses and thesis work; research groups, including private ones, for the development of services and for the improvement of the quality of life; public or private entities for scientific research purposes and / or interested in developing services useful for improving the quality of life.
Additional or different information from the above will be provided in the privacy statement of each project in which iLog is involved.
Data retention period
The data retention period varies depending on the project iLog is involved in.
Rights of interested parties
The Data Subject shall have the rights referred to in article 15 et seq. of the GDPR and the right of access to, to rectification or integration, to erasure of personal data, to restriction of or to object to processing of personal data. To exercise rights and have information related to the project in which iLog is involved it is possible to contact the Responsible of the project. The Data Subject shall have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority by virtue of article 77 of the GDPR.
The Data Controller reserves the right to update this information, publishing any additions at the project URL.
Data deletion request
- Possibly send the email with the same email address used for iLog registration;
- Use “Data deletion request” as the email subject;
- Indicate the project and location of the data collection whose information you want to delete (multiple data collections can be indicated);
- Specify the email address used for iLog registration.
